Mark Mitchell

MARIETTA, Ga. - Mr. Mark Callahan Mitchell, age 58, of Marietta, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was born October 23, 1958 in Augusta. He was a graduate of Westside High School in Augusta. After high school graduation, Mark relocated to Atlanta. Mark graduated from Chattahoochee Tech with a degree in HVAC and from Ferris State University with certification in Refrigerant transition and recovery system. Mr. Mitchell worked in hotel construction, renovation and maintenance from 1989 to 2004. He was the sole proprietor of Lodging Services, Inc. from 2004 to 2010. Mark's hobbies included computer technology and research. He was respected for his abilities to problem solve, maximizing efficiencies and saving money for hotel companies. Mark is survived by his loving wife, whom he married on November 26, 1994, Linda Hamilton Mitchell of Marietta, daughter Carrie Lynn Mitchell, of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his father George Hines Mitchell and brother George Lawrence (Larry) Mitchell. A funeral service will be held 4 pm Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
