Dear Mrs. Burris, Steve, and family,
Although there is an empty place here on Earth because of Mr. Burris's graduation to his heavenly home, what a joy it is to know that you as his family, along with those of us who are his spiritual family will be reunited again when the trumpet of God sounds and Christ calls us to be with Him.
Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Yet, the New Testament talks about the saints of God being "asleep in Jesus" when we put off our earthly tabernacle and join our Savior in Glory!
I am praying for you all as you grieve because you miss Mr. Burris. Our God is the god of all comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3) He alone can comfort you far more than we, your siblings in Christ can.
(2 Corinthians 5:8) "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
I am praying for you all to be able to accept God's comfort, joy, and peace in the midst of your sorrow. I love you all.

We were saddened to hear of your family's loss. Mr. Burris was special to us, as are you all. We are out of town, and will be unable to be with you. Please know you are in our thought and prayers. May our Lord comfort and give you peace.
