Ronnie J. Powell

Memorial Services for Mr. Ronnie J. Powell, 76, who entered into rest November 1, 2017, will be conducted Saturday at 12 noon in the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Milton Summerall officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Powell was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the Graniteville Company with 25 years of service and from Kimberly Clark with 20 years of service. In recent years, Mr. Powell worked as an aid on the special needs buses for Columbia County schools. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and spending time with his family. Mr. Powell will be fondly remembered as a compassionate caregiver, always giving of himself. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Powell; his mother, Kathleen Powell; and his brother Tommy Powell.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Camille P. Powell; his children, Diana (Tom) Hall, Evans, GA, Joe Thompson, Martinez, GA, Wendy P. (Dennis) Gainey, Hepzibah, GA, Chad (Kim) Powell, Martinez, GA; his grandchildren, Lily Doyle, Courtney Doyle, Justin (Chelsea) Thompson, Bo Thompson, Dennis (April) Gainey, Jr., Drew Gainey and Paige (Talon) Bohannon; ten great-grandchildren; a sister Paula Edge, Clearwater, SC; a cousin and dear friend, Steven (Lois) McDade, Martinez, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
