Ruby Docurro

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, March 16, 2016, Mrs. Ruby Docurro, age 88. Ruby was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, GA. She attended Tubman High School for Girls and graduated in 1945. Ruby went to Augusta Technical College with a Cosmetology Degree in 1977. She worked for Lily Tulip Cup Division from 1950 until 1978. Ruby loved the Lord, her family, music, including gospel, old rock-n-roll and beach. She loved to dance and the beach. She was a lifelong member of Sherwood Baptist Church and Freedom Fellowship Church Family members include sons: James H. Jay (Sandra) and Ricky O. Jay (Mary Louise); daughter: Kimberly D. Johnson; granddaughters: Kathryn Jay-Young (Brian), Erin Jay Bruce (Alex) and Julie H. Jay (fianc Bobby Martin); grandson: Matthew T. Jay (Ren ); great-grandson: Kaden M. Jay; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Docurro was preceded in death by her parents: James E. Kelley and Daisy McLin Kelley; husband: Herbert C. Jay; husband: Phillip J. Docurro; sisters: Margaret Kelley Sellears and Emma Kelley Willis and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until the time of service.
