Ruby Jackson

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Ruby M. Jackson entered into rest Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Trinity Hospital. She was born February 17, 1944 in Millen, Georgia to the late Catherine and Wade Jackson. She was educated in the public schools of Jenkins County and graduated from Burgess Landrum High School in 1963. She was a talented cook and was the Head Cook at Duke Restaurant for over 40 years. She was also employed at S&S Cafeteria in N. Augusta, SC until she retired. She was the main caregiver for her brother, Robert Jackson until her health declined. She was a neighborhood mother figure and friend to many in her community. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jimmy L. Jackson and David W. Jackson. Survivors include seven siblings, Robert C. Jackson and Elouise Lambert of Augusta, GA, Edwina Burwell of Jamaica, NY, Carlton (Tessie) Jackson of Augusta, GA, Carolyn (Samuel) Jackson of West Palm Beach, FL, Deborah (James) Keys of Augusta, GA and Catherine (James) Draine of Beech Island, SC; one aunt, Gertrude McNealy of Millen, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from Good Shepherd Baptist Church with Bishop Rosa L. Williams and Rev. Carlton Howard officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. W. H.
