Rusty Gordon

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Rusty, age 67, husband of Patsy Gordon, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Rusty retired from Flor Daniels and Austin Industries at Pryon, formerly Monte Sano Chemical, for 42 years. He was a long time member of Morningside Baptist Church and current member of West Acres Baptist Church. He enjoyed life and loved to make people laugh. He loved Jesus and never missed a chance to tell others of Jesus' wondrous love for us. In addition to his wife, family members include son Evan Gordon; daughter Sonya Gordon of Atlanta; sisters Gloria Stanley of Evans, Jennifer Powell (Gary) of Lincolnton; aunts Dorothy Owens, Jackie Cook, Sarah Barnes; sisters-in-law Derry Tipton (Tony) of Beech Island, Claudean Curtis of Martinez, Betty Jean Curtis of North Augusta; brother-in-law Mickey Shirley of Augusta; several nieces and nephews; adopted parents Rev. Don and Jean Tipton; adopted sister Donna Tipton; and beloved Yorkie Oakley. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Gordon; mother Bertha Cousart; step-father J. R. Cousart; brother Danny Cousart; sister Cindy Kitchens; and beloved brother- in-law George Curtis. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael DeCampli, Charlie Price, Wayne Collins, Phil Alexander, Cocoa Corley, Mike Williams, Jay Powell, and Brian Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Becton, Forrest Stewart, Harry Harmon, and members of the Faith Sunday School class.
