I worked with Sharon a few years ago but continued to keep in touch with her. I was heartbroken when she found out about the cancer but she had such faith & fought it til the end. She was such a sweet person & so fun to be around. There was never a dull moment with her. I know she's in a better place but she will be truly missed. Your family is in my thoughts & prayers.

Debbie. I am so very, very sorry for your loss - we only just learned of this from my mother's message this evening and I regret that I was not there for you.

Sharon was a beautiful and delightful woman for as long as we have known her...for me, that would be beginning her junior year in high school, my senior year. Sharon, Debbie, Ramona and I were all at Butler for our first year. They made me feel at home and invited me in.
For my husband, several years later when she dated a dear friend. I have often remembered our friend Jim saying later to her 'how did you get this sweet and pretty in just 20 years?'...and she was both, truly. Such a sweet disposition and a very sweet soul, much as her sister's.

Debbie, please let us know if we can do anything for you and your mama. My heart is heavy; I cannot begin to fathom the loss of a sister.

God bless you All.

Godspeed, Sharon.

I worked with Sharon for a couple of years many years ago at Georgia Railroad Bank when we were both around 20. We "did lunch" many times and often visited her father at work. She was a good girl. My heart goes out to her family. May God be with all of you during the difficult and lengthy time it will take to adjust to such a loss.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

At a time when I had no family and nowhere else to go, the Philpot family took me in as one of their own, due to my friendship with Debbie and Sharon. It was at a time when they were moving into a new home and had many other expenses, I am sure. It was the time of high school for the 3 of us girls but they treated me and my little sister Nancy as one of their own. Now after experiencing the trials and tribulations of life, as an adult I can see how very much I owe to this family. I did not keep in touch as I should and at the time didn't realize what a sacrifice they were making on my behalf. Sharon and Debbie and I were as one during my senior year and I will never forget and always cherish those times. On behalf of Nancy Usry Godbee, I send love and sincere condolences. I am so sorry that Sharon had to leave you this early in her lifetime. Love,
Ramona Usry Johnston

Dear Frankie & Debbie;
My heart is aching, it seems like yesterday we were driving without permission, dating each others boyfriends, taking Myrtle Beach by storm and living life to the fullest. She was my best friend, the years apart mean nothing compared to our years together. Jimmy & my whole family will have you in our prayers. We will see you tonight.
