Stephen James Marusek

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Stephen James Marusek, 88, husband of Mrs. Lucille M. Marusek, of Merriwether Dr., entered into rest Friday, January 19, 2007. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2007 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father John Zimmerman celebrant. Entombment will be at Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, one hour prior to the service. Mr. Marusek was born in Streator, IL and lived in Michigan prior to moving to North Augusta fourteen years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was a U. S. Army Veteran. Mr. Marusek was a retired Tool Engineer from Shakespeare Company and was a very talented craftsman. He designed scale model engines, and in April of 2006, his Half Scale Traction Steam Engine was featured at the North American Model Engineering Society in Toledo, OH. In addition, he handcrafted five functional and exceptionally elegant violins. Additional survivors include one daughter, Margaret Marusek Dozois and her husband Ted of Bradenton, FL, one brother, Louis Marusek; two sisters, Ann Orrison and Dorothy Conklin all of Michigan; two grandchildren, Etien Paul Dozois and Adeline Rose Dozois.
