T.C. deKlerk Obituary

EVANS, Ga. - Mr. T.C. de Klerk, the only son of Steve and Marie-Louise de Klerk, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2015 while on assignment in Italy. T.C. was born on October 19, 1972 in South Africa and has resided in the United States for the past eleven years. He was proud to have become an American citizen earlier this year. His passion as a Mechanical Engineer was evident to his family, friends and peers in his abilities as the Product Verification and Validation Manager at John Deere, Augusta. T.C. was well liked, made friends easily and was known for his humour. He was an avid runner, kayaker and member of a local close knit friendly poker group. He'll be sorely missed. T.C. and Millanie de Klerk have one daughter, Michaela. He was a loving, devoted and passionate father to his only daughter. T.C. and "Poppet", as he would call Michaela, loved doing "geeky stuff"- as they would say - like watching Star Wars and debunking SyFy movies. They loved playing computer games, drawing together and going on bike rides at the Savannah Rapids. They would have long discussions about physics and mathematics and had a special bond on a level only they understood. The memorial service to celebrate Theunis Christoffel de Klerk's life will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Platt's Belair Road Chapel. Michaela will receive friends one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Michaela de Klerk's College Account at Wells Fargo, 4363 Washington Road, Evans, Ga. 30809.
