AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Thomas Watson Burroughs passed away peacefully at his home July 2, 2014. He was married to the late Nancy Davis Burroughs for 75 years. He was 100 years old. He retired from the J. P. King Manufacturing Company with over 56 years of service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA with Reverend Dr. Clyde Hill, Sr., pastor-officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Survivors are two daughters, Shirley B. (Leamon) Grier and Thomasina B. Grant; a daughter-in-law, Emma G. Burroughs; grandchildren, Cheryl (Reginald) Cofer, Pamela Gordon, all of Augusta, GA, Thomas Emerson Burroughs, Carl Davis Burroughs, of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Chanita Rene Cofer, Reginald (Kelora) Cofer, Carla Elizabeth Rene Burroughs, all of Augusta, GA, Ke'mya N. Burroughs of Roswell, GA and one great great grandson, Reginald K. Cofer, of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Ella Mae Wheeler and Sidney B. Carter; one brother-in-law, Sally Thomas, all of Augusta, GA; one son, who preceded him in death, Carl W. (Sonny Soul) Burroughs, four sisters and two brothers, also preceded him in death, Pauline B. Lewis, Elizabeth B. Turner, Marietta B. Lewis and Leora B. Turner, Grady Burroughs and Johnnie Burroughs. He also leaves a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he dearly loved. Friends may call the residence of his daughters, Mrs. Shirley B. Grier and Mrs. Thomasina B.
