This message comes very late as I just learned of Walt's passing in reading the Nationwide Insider publication. My prayers go out to his family for the loss of such a wonderful man. I worked with Walt for most of my career at Nationwide especially when I was in the Alpharetta office. You could always depend on Walt and he gave me such great advice over the years. I last saw him when we worked CAT duty together in Columbus, Ohio after Hurricane Ike. May God Bless his family and carry them in the months ahead.

On my first day of work over 23 years ago one of the first things Walt told me was "Claims handling is easy. You call people, you tell them what you are going to do, you do it, then you call them back and tell them it's done." It was his simple way of saying keep the customer informed. I have followed his advice every week for 23 years and trained over 200 newly hired Nationwiders by starting off with that exact same sentence. He would probably laugh to know what a legacy he left at Nationwide! Walt was the best co-worker and friend anyone could have. My heart and prayers are with you all. God bless you, Tara
