Charles Hughes Obituary

Charles Scott Hughes, 57 of North Aurora, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2022 at his home. He was born June 1, 1964 in Geneva, IL. Chuck had battled chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for many years and that was the cause of his death.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Hughes Hall; sister, Karen (Chris) Griffin and their children, Ryan and Erin; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Nancy Holmes; sister-in-law, Janet Holmes; step-sisters, Jeanne (Arthur) Jackson and Sharon (Jeff) Crowhurst; step-brother, Mark (Debbie) Hall plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chuck was preceded in death by the love of his life, Beverly Holmes Hughes; father, Attorney Charles L. Hughes; step-father, Rev. John Hall; grandparents, Dr. Robert and Helen Kesel; aunt and uncle, Rev. Robert and Dolores Kesel.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 325 E. Downer P., Aurora, IL 60505 or Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554.
