Dorothea Glassgold

1915 - 2015

Dorothea "Dottie" Glassgold passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015. She was born on January 21, 1915 in Elmira, New York. She married Burnhart "Bip" Glassgold on October 5th, 1934 in Rochester New York. They had one daughter Suzanne "Sue" Glasssgold . They resided in Bradford, Massachusetts, Aurora, Illinois, and Mission, Kansas. In 1966, they retired to Lampe, Mo. on Table Rock Lake. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and gardening. She loved having family and friends visit her at the lake. In her final years living with her daughter, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles reading books, and always had a love for cardinals and other birds. Her favorite times were with gatherings of family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and lit a room with her funny wit and fun sense of humor. Earlier this year she celebrated her 100th Birthday with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnhart "Bip" Glassgold; one granddaughter, Laurie Anderson; her parents, Daniel "Dan" Edward Mogel; her mother, Wilhemina "Mina" Mogel; one brother, Edward "Teddy" Mogel; a sister, Bess M. Goldberg and a sister, Miriam Prenn. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne "Sue" Glassgold; her granddaughter, Debbie (Mike) Taylor; 2 great grandchildren, Kayla and Connor Taylor and several nieces and nephews. Family will be receiving guests Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 4:00 pm until time of service at 7:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Ted Kulczycki and his staff for the wonderful care of Dottie, and also thank the compassionate staff at Presence Mercy Medical Center during her final days.
