I'm so sorry for the loss of Dr. Koch. He was our equine vet for many years, as well as for our small animals. My sister and I showed in 4-H and Lea Ann was in the club for a time before moving on to AQHA classes. "Doc" Koch kept my sister's horse at your barn while she was recovering from a broken leg. He was such a nice man and a no-nonsense vet. You have my sympathy.

Helen, I am so sorry for your loss. However although Howard was not working at the vet for a number of years, I had the opportunity to have him as my vet for almost 30yrs. He was a wonderful man and will be very much thought of and missed. My heart goes out to you for a loss of such a wonderful man. I knew him in Oswego all those years and have now located to Florida for retirement.

Dear Helen, I was so sorry to read of Doc's passing. He will be missed by so many people. Although I have not known him very long (compared to his many long standing relationships), I will always remember how welcome he made me feel when I returned to Kendall County, and how he encouraged me to get involved with the history of our area. I was touched then, and still am. He leaves a great legacy of people and projects behind to remember him and to continue his works in many ways. Take care of yourself and know that we are all thinking of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Koch family. Dr Koch was a big part of my childhood. He was my horse's vet for many years, and I was one of the original members of K & K Raiders. I will always have good memories of those times.

Hey Leann, so sorry to hear about Doc, he was one very special individual. I will never forget the time at G'ville when our gelding stepped on Rainbow's (rat terrier) toe, and Doc stitched her up while I held her (which he asked me if I could hold her, before he started) she was perfectly fine. He was always happy and very social to talk with. So sorry for your lost. All three of you have some wonderful memories to cherish forever.

Doc was one of my heros in the horse world. He was always kind and a pleasure to be around. Although we no longer spoke on a regular basis our conversation would pick up just where it left off. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our best wishes go out to his family.

Dear Helen, Lea Ann, Brian and families,
My memories of Dr. Koch go back a long, long time, in fact back to my childhood when I use to come with my dad, George Ellsworth, when he brought his coonhounds down to see Doc. I remember the good times with your family., I also remember how sweet you always were to remember my mother after my dad passed away. May the Lord comfort each of you now, with peace and wonderful memories of your wonderful husband and father.
I will be praying for each of you. We are in North Carolina at this time visiting our son, so we will not be able to be there. God Bless
Sincerely,
Cindy Ellsworth Felix
Daughter of George and Mary Ellsworth

"Doc" was a pillar in the community and especially the equine community. I knew him from the time I was a little girl, when he became a vet & worked on my grandfathers animals. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, and that is a tremendous amount of people. He touched the lives of many.
