Ila A. Houlis

1970 - 2021

Ila A. Houlis, 50, of Las Vegas, NV (formerly of Aurora, IL), passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was born September 28, 1970 in Aurora, IL the son of Andrew and Vikki Houlis.

Ila was the District Manager for Securitas Security Services, USA. He was a top performer and well respected in his company. He was an avid bowler with an average of 279! He was a diehard Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox Fan, even in the challenging years. Ila loved to cook and was the proud winner of a regional Chili Cook-Off. Ila was a member of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Las Vegas.

Ila is survived by his wife of 21 wonderful years, Debbie Houlis of Las Vegas, NV; his father, Andrew B. Houlis of Aurora, IL and his brother, Bill (Linda) Houlis of Aurora, IL. He has fabulous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and four-legged family members that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vikki Houlis.

Debbie shared that the last thing they did together on Sunday afternoon was adopt their new puppy, Murphy.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 9 A.M. until the service hour of 10 A.M. at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 Fifth Ave., Aurora, IL 60504. Interment will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park.
