Joseph Schaschwary

Joseph Schaschwary, age 84, of Montgomery, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born May 9, 1932 in Filipovo, Yugoslavia, the eldest son of the late Christian and Maria (nee Epli) Schaschwary. Joseph was a devoted and loving brother to his eight siblings. Left to cherish his memory are Valentin (Rose) Schaschwary, John Schaschwary, Agnes (Anthony) Kresz and Adolf (Sue) Schaschwary. Fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Schaschwary, Katharina (the late Lorenz) Spiess, Maria (Andreas) Mussar and brother, Helmut (Penny) Schaschwary. Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church, Aurora and was employed by All-Steel, Aurora for over 25 years. He enjoyed bowling and a variety of games such as cards, BINGO, and chess. He made many friends and had an astute memory for birthdays and anniversary dates. Visitation Monday, April 10, 2017, 9:00 - 10:00 AM at St Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd, Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Monday, 10:00 AM at St Patrick's Residence. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
