Madeline Augustine Obituary

Augustine, Madeline E. Age 83, of Sandwich, IL passed away December 6, 2011 at Countryside Nursing Home, Aurora, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Aurora on April 21, 1928 the daughter of Henry and Evelyn (Loftus) Dehning. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL. She graduated from Madonna High School in Aurora in 1946. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She married Richard H. Augustine in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 26, 1946 and the Augustine family was blessed with five children. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Richard of Sandwich IL; her brother William (Marilyn) Dehning of Clovis, CA; her children, Linda (Michael) Leonard of Aurora IL, Susan (Ron) Spanu of Plano, IL, David (Clare) Augustine of Yorkville, IL, Diane (Gary) Wildy of Batavia, IL, and Todd (Therese) Augustine of Geneva, IL; 12 grandchildren, Laura (Michael) Beatus, Michael (Trina) Leonard, Jon (Deanna) Spanu, Michelle (George) Dockendorf, Amanda (Donald) O'Brien, David (Jennifer) Augustine, Jennifer (Michael) Hager, Rebekah (Brian) Pircon, Kristen Augustine, Jacob Augustine, Matthew Augustine, and Alexandrea Augustine, 16 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Mrs. Nancy "Brinkmann" Buckley of Batavia, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Evelyn, and her infant brother Dean. She enjoyed visits with friends; she treasured family get-togethers and Holidays, she took great pride in her card making projects, and particularly enjoyed her daily cup of Starbuck's coffee. She was employed for many years by Copley Hospital and Dreyer Medical Clinic and included many co-workers among her closest friends. Her family wishes to thank the staffs of Copley Hospital, McAuley Manor, Provena Mercy Hospice, and Countryside Nursing Home for providing comfort and compassion to Madeline and her family the past few months. Funeral mass services will be held 11:00 a.m at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Sandwich with Fr. Andrew Houghan officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. At Beverage Family Funeral Home Sandwich. In lieu of flowers memorials may be forwarded to (Provena Hospice Care, Aurora, Countryside Nursing Home, Aurora, or Fox Valley Older Adults, Sandwich IL). I worked with Madeline at Dreyer, she was a bright shining star in the ob department,she made everyday fun to come to work.She would come in to visit and the buzz would go thru the dept "Maddie is here!" We would all run to have a vitit with her She was special to all of us that had the privlege to know her!My thoughts and prayers and deepest synpathy to her family
