Stephens, Marian H. 93, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Provena McAuley Manor. She was born November 4, 1917 in Little Rock, IL the daughter of the late Paul and Salisbury (Lower) Hatch. Marian was a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She attended West Aurora High School, and Illinois State University, obtaining a degree in education. She worked for 37 years at Stephens-Adamson Mfg. Co. in Aurora, working in several different capacities, including assistant secretary of the corporation. She was a member of Eastern Star, and was past president of the Zonta Club of Aurora. In 1975 she was named one of the Women of the Year by the Aurora YWCA, and in 1976 was named "Woman of Distinction" by the Aurora YWCA. She was a charter member and Past President of the Valley Chapter, National Secretaries Association, and was awarded the "Secretary of the Year" award by them in 1978. She was also a member of the Fox Valley Business and Professional Woman's Association. In her spare time, she logged in over 500 hours as a volunteer member of the White Cross Auxiliary of Copley Memorial Hospital and traveled extensively. She is survived by her nephew, James Hatch of Little Rock, AR; her four nieces, Cecelia (John) Rothschild, New York, NY, Deborah (Sam) Chapin of Aurora, CO, Patricia (Wray) McKenzie, of Big Rock, IL and Barbara (Steven) Johnson of Hurley, WI; her sister-in-law, Helen Hatch of Chicago, IL; step-grandchildren Nan (Chuck) Tulley of Sugar Grove, IL., and Jan Stephens of Phoenix, AZ., her great nieces and nephews T.J. (Renee) Howland, Eagle River, AK., Amy (Bryan) Spears, Sugar Grove, IL., Cassandra McKenzie, Big Rock, IL., W. Robert McKenzie, Big Rock, IL., Elizabeth (Mike) Huber, Ripon, WI., Kathryn Johnson (Dave Betlewski), Hurley, WI., Emily (Bradford) Lewis, Englewood, Co., and Laura Kobliska, San Jose, CA. She is also survived by several great-great nephews Donovan Huber, Ripon, WI., Max Huber, Ripon, WI., Odin Huber, Ripon, WI., Rukus Betlewski, Hurley, WI., Xander Lewis, Englewood, CO., Jackson Howland, Eagle River, AK., and one great-great niece Kolby Lewis, Englewood, CO., and several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy S. Stephens, her brothers Albert Hatch and Donald Hatch, her sister Marjorie Mickelson, her sister-in-law Betty Hatch, brother-in-law Robert Mickelson, step-son Donald Stephens, and step-grandson Donald Stephens, Jr. Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at Spring Lake Cemetery.
