Robert Hartmann Obituary
Robert M. Hartmann, 94 of Lakeland, FL. formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at his home in FL. He was born August 1, 1913 in Chicago, IL.
On April 18, 1936, Robert married Delight M. (Friebele). They had a long and happy life together. He started his own successful trucking business, Aurora Fast Freight.
Survivors include his children, Sandra Basista of Aurora, Terry (Barbara) Hartmann of Lac du Flambeau, WI, Kenneth (Patricia) Hartmann of Batavia, Debra (Rusty) Erickson of Aurora, and Nancy (Matthew) Cory of Lakeland, FL; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Howard Hartmann of Venice, FL and by his sister, Jean Cottrell of Lockport, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delight; and by one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:30 am from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Holy Angels Church at 12:00 noon. Fr. Andrew Skrobutt will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 3, 2008 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a liturgical wake service at 3:00 pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 631-5500.
Memorials may be made in his wife's name to The Alzheimer's Association, 4709 Golf Rd., Suite 1015, Skokie, IL. 60076.

Dear Hartmann Family,
On behalf of the entire Carew family, we offer you our sincere sympathy and prayers. We remember your father well and have found memories of him.
I think he may be the last of "The Club" members which included Les Johnson and his wife, Hank & Julia Huss, Bob & Alice Evans, June & Jack Carew, Roy McCue and his wife and your mom and dad. What great times they had together. My favorite event was the annual Fourth of July gathering that was held at Bob & Alice's home.
Since those care free days, we lost both of our parents in 1990 and have also lost three siblings (Kathleen, Carolyn and Paul). Having your dad past away now makes me very sad because like an old episode of "Friends" once said...."it's the end of an era". I hope this note reaches you so that you know our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are truly with all the Hartmann family. Terry I know what it is like to lose parents. OUr parents were about the same age. I have memories of your Dad on both E. Galena(Main Street) and as a great customer at the bank. He was quite a guy.
