William Colliflower Obituary

Aged 84, died peacefully after complications of a heart attack. He was surrounded by family and friends. Bill was born in Sandwich, Illinois to Amos and Esther Colliflower. Graduating from Sandwich Township High School in 195l. He spent two years at the University of Colorado before joining the Navy and becoming a lieutenant and Naval Pilot. He served our county for four years following the Korean War, flying off the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. Bill returned to Boulder to complete his undergraduate studies. He continued his quest to become a MD at the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver. He realized his goal of becoming an Ob/Gyn at Stanford University. Dr. Colliflower had many passions, among them golf, sailing, scuba diving and travel. His first book, "Monsters of Medicine" was published in 2013 and his second book was near completion. He was a great cook, and threw memorable dinner parties where he loved to share good wine, scotch and fine cigars. Bill leaves behind his wife Linda, his sister Nancy Hogg (Tony) who live nearby in Volcano. His three children Doug (Candice) and grandchildren, Dylan and Jenna of Altadena, Ca. James and his sons, Bradley and Stephen of Spokane, Wa, and Karen Blashford (Jim) and children, Andrew, Katie and Jack of Auburn, Ca. and his precious dog Maximilian who was his constant companion. Contributions may be made to: Friends of the Library, Jackson, Ca. and the Historical Society of Jackson. CA. Celebration of life will be held on March 10th.
