Frank Aldridge

1938 - 2025

Frank Burton Aldridge, 86, of North Wilkesboro, NC, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at Atrium Health-Wilkes Medical Center. He was born in San Francisco, CA, on November 27, 1938, and raised in Crossnore, NC. He was the son of the late Ray and Joan Small Aldridge. Frank's greatest love was for Jesus Christ, and his life was a testimony to that unwavering faith. On October 15, 1967, Frank married the love of his life, Anna Burleson Aldridge. Together, they shared 58 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. After his service, he built a long and steady career as a truck driver with Carolina Freight out of Cherryville, NC, before retiring.

A lover of the outdoors, Frank was most at peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand or swimming-a skill he learned in the Linville Gorge during his youth. He especially cherished time spent on the lake with his grandsons, Adam and Jesse, and his sweetie. He remained active throughout retirement, enjoying many years at the YMCA. Above all, he loved the mountains of North Carolina, which he always considered home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Burleson Aldridge of the home; daughter, Deanna Aldridge Black (David) of Crouse, NC; sons, David Ray Aldridge of the home, and Wendell Addis of the Philippines; brother, Tom Aldridge (Mary) of Crossnore, NC; and brother-in-law, Jack Wiseman of Newland, NC. He is also survived by numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will cherish his memory. Frank was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren include Adam Harrold (Colby); Jesse Harrold (Allison); Celine Black; Brandon Addis; Brandy Addis Tillman (Reid); Travis Addis (Kristina); Gabrielle Addis Wolford (Steven); Kristopher Addis (Lorenza); Mikayla Addis; and Camden Addis (Sydney). His great-grandchildren are Teigen Harrold, Olivia Slater, Ashton Addis, Haily Shronce, Miles Wolford, and Sydney Wolford.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Jo Ann Aldridge Wiseman of Newland, NC.

Frank will be remembered for his deep faith, love for his family, strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and ability to make others laugh.
