During the years I knew Deka, she shared her love of gardening and of our town, Banner Elk. We shared conversation during our volunteer time at the Chamber. A lovely, strong southern lady who left her imprint on those who were fortunate to know her. May the kind words of friends and acquaintances bring comfort to the family at this time.
