Earl Cornell

1934 - 2025

Earl Cornell May 31, 1934 - January 20, 2025 Palmdale - Earl Cornell passed away at age 90 after a brief illness. Born in Parsons, Kansas, Earl spent most of his life in Antelope Valley. He worked at Safeway during high school and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Before deployment to North Africa, Earl married his "lady love" Mary Carolyn Bruner. Earl became a civilian employee at Edwards Air Force Base, retiring as a shop manager after 40 years. The couple bought their Palmdale home in 1963 where they raised a son and daughter. Earl made time for countless home projects. He served as treasurer of AFGE, BSA scoutmaster, and maintenance man at his church. He and Carol enjoyed travel from road trips to cruises. Earl enjoyed reminiscing and considered time spent together a gift. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Eldred Cornell, mother, Alpha Chastain Cornell, and three brothers. His is survived by wife Carol, son Terry Dean Cornell (Alice), and daughter Anna Christina Cornell-Pape (Eric). Earl is missed by extended family and many friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's of the Valley Lutheran Church in Palmdale. Earl and Carol enjoyed fellowship there these many years.
