Mary BRUBAKER

1934 - 2021

87, of Palmdale passed away July 30, 2021. Born to Everett and Bernice Ligtenberg in 1934, she was the oldest of 9 children and grew up on dairy farms in Corsica, Bellflower, and Ontario. She met the love of her life, Ronald, while attending Upland College and they married in 1951. They moved to Palmdale in 1954 and have lived here pretty much ever since. Mary was a member of Palmdale Presbyterian Church for many years and served as a Deacon and Lay Pastor. She is a current member of Palmdale United Methodist Church. She was a devoted Christian woman and found great joy in her faith and family. Her hobbies included read- ing, china painting, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed airshows, space shuttle lift-offs, history, NASCAR, the Olympics, and scary movies. Mary is survived by her children; Cindy (Mike) Raikes, Pam (Tim) Ewalt, Randy (Connie) Brubaker, Kevin (Cathy) Brubaker, April (Hugo) Schraer, along with 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Palmdale United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Palmdale United Methodist Church.
