Hynes, Albert W.
Albert Hynes, in his 98th year, formerly of Sun City West, AZ, resident of Glencroft Retirement Community in Glendale, AZ. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Blanche. Al was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1914 of natural-born American Citizens of humble means, Al held many jobs in his long lifetime. He was a Merchant Marine Seaman before WWII, and joined the United States Navy. He continued to work on ships at the Brooklyn Navy Yard after the war and worked himself to an Engineering Aide with the Grumman Aerospace Corporation from which he retired 35 years ago. After his retirement, he moved to Sun City, AZ. Survivors include his daughter, Lillian (Lee) Cousin, son-in-law, Roger Cousin, and sister Edith Reatz, 4 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His Memorial Service will be held at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 Camino del Sol, in Sun City West, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013. Interment at the National Cemetery will be held by the family at a future date. His wry humor and his steadfast faith in Christ will be missed by all who knew him. His family asks that in lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85014-5656. Their staff became like family during his final time.
