Ms. Vregdevoogd was my elementary art teacher for 5 years from around 2009-2014. I don’t think I’ve ever had a teacher that has made that much of an impact on me as her. She always encouraged my creativity and took the time to take me a side to show me the little projects and ideas she had. She was a one of a kind teacher and truly loved what she did. I always think and dream of her classroom, and how happy and comfortable I felt in there. I don’t think I’d be as in love with art if it weren’t for her. I can still see her reading us an art book on her carpet, or pulling out her hundreds of magazines to make collages out of. I miss her and I hope she knows how much she made an impact on her students. I miss you Ms Vredevoogd. Thank you for everything.

I am Allison's youngest sister. Our dad, Harley was her dad...he married my mom when I was 4. He loved birds, Bluejays always came to the birdfeeder near his picture window. He passed a year ago, we placed some of her ashes in his urn along with him so they could be together always. Today, I had 2 Bluejays on a tree branch...One squawked at me...the one other sat there and then flew off! You two are together always, I miss AL! You are with our dad, your mom and (my mom ) and all your loved ones from years past!! I will Love you always, Kristin

Dearest Tetje & Lon ~ Your mom to me was a woman who adored the music of Phillip Glass, could make the coolest stuff out of absolute junk, stayed up with me into the wee hours of the morning creating outfits out of recycled materials, entered into philosophical discussions about spirituality, loved our children, dogs, home and gardening, and always embraced the best in everyone. My heart surrounds you during this journey.

Allison took pride in who she was, how life had delt her the hand it had, but not once did her faith find fault. She was a special kind of different, the kind of different the world needs more of. Allison, you meant so much to so many. Your love of art and appreciation of culture was expressed in everything you touched. The 3 dimensional heart craft brought community together. May your family find love and support in your legacy you left behind. Thank you for being a friend, an ear, and a colleague. You will be forever missed.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of such of a beautiful and loving human being. She had such a welcoming and inviting personality.
I had the privilege of being in her class on many occasions where she shone like a star. She had a great sense of humor and shared her happiest moments with me. Everyday there were new pictures of Lon and Tetje and not to mention her dogs who she loved so much.
Allison will be greatly missed.
