Andrew Meyer Obituary
Andrew Otto Meyer longtime Scottsdale resident and owner of DJ's of Scottsdale died unexpectedly on New Year's Day. Andy, as his friends knew him, was 61 years old. He was a true character with a heart of gold and great sense of humor. Family and friends will dearly miss his quick wit and youthful personality. Just thinking of Andy brings a smile to all who knew him. Andy is survived by his wife, Alison, and his beautiful daughters Ashley and Alexandra, as well as his nieces Melanie Paul Block and Allison Paul. A celebration of Andy's life will be held at DJ's beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 following a private family memorial.

So sad to hear this news, Andy was an awesome boss, great friend and amazingly funny! I am so sorry or his family. I worked at DJs from 1989 to 1996 and spent a great portion of my youth there! I will never forget him.

Otto is the most unique guy I have ever known. Stories of our working days together at the Cork and Oaxaca are never ending...always around him and his sense of "fun". This great friend will be missed. May God bless and care for the girls. Burndog

So sad to hear about Andy's passing. He and I had so much fun helping out in the dugout during Alex and Kara's softball games. He was always so positive with the girls and always smiling. He will be missed.

Where do I begin? So many memories, so many laughs, so many jokes. I'm so thrilled that I can say that I knew you. You were the one person anyone would go to for a joke, a smile, or a laugh. You didnt even have to say anything you would already have me smiling. I will miss the loud blow horn coming down the hallway and all of the times you mistakenly flicked me in the head because you thought I was Alex. I feel honored to have known such a wonderful person like you. I will take care of Alex. RIP Mr. Meyer?

I am heartbroken from the loss of Andy. I am so thankful for having known him for the short three years we did. He could always put a smile on anyones face. Andy will be rembered by all as a gentleman and always had a smile and something funny or nice to say. He witnessed when Tim asked me to marry him at DJ's in 1994 and naturally made sure we celebrated in style at DJ's. He knew his business well and it is obvious by the crowds of people and thoughts from everyone this week that he knew how to treat people well.
God Bless your soul as you enter into eternal life. We will all see you in the future Andy and I am sure that there will be a DJ's in Heaven and that is where we will find you.

The memories from the Cork n Cleaver days are flooding my mind. Andy was by far, the funniest most outrageous guy I ever had the pleasure to work with. When Andy, Jimmy and Runyon would be together the hilarity ensued! I'm sure Andy was met at the Pearly Gates by Steve, Bird, Dwight, Mort, Bobby, Lee, Doug, Dan, Brooke & many more that my brain is not recalling right now. We have lost another GREAT guy too soon!!
