Arthur Young "Art" Pitcher obituary

Arthur Pitcher Obituary

Pitcher, Arthur Young 'Art'
age 81, of Phoenix AZ, was escorted by the highest order of angels to his Father's Kingdom on January 13, 2014. He was born in Muskogree, OK to Arthur Young and Pearl Pitcher and was the eldest of seven children. He grew up in California and used his love of the ocean to earn a Captain license and pilot the Tradewinds boat. At age 18, he served his country in Korea with the Airborne Ranger Infantry Companies, and earned the rank of Master Sergeant. His next endeavor was to become at Design Engineer at high profile companies with challenging projects. Finally he shared his passion for knowledge, by teaching others, and was a part of the Maricopa Community College system, and after retirement he turned his love of numbers in to understanding probability-based games. In 1968, Art moved to Arizona and married his wife of 45 years, Lee, and considered that his greatest achievement. Most of all, he will be remembered for the loving and humorous way he dispensed wisdom to his family. He is survived by his wife, Lee, brothers: Arnie, Sammy, and Mike, and sister Marta. He was a loving Dad to Linda Anderson (Syd), Kevin Frazee (Tina), and Arthur Young Pitcher III (Misty). He doted on the grandchildren: Michael (Venessa), Heather (Reese), Brittany (Jeremy), and Brandon (Tasia) and Kym. He was Grandpa Grape to the great-grandchildren: Charley, Kevin, Gabriella, Lily, Makinsey, Emily, Barett, and Audrey. He loved and was loved. Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to Monte Vista Nazarene Church, 3330 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, or Hospice of the Valley, 1515 E. Flower, Phoenix 85016.

Oh dad, how I miss you. You taught me what it means to be brave, even in the end. I cherish our last time together, and am so grateful for the opportunity to have spent your last days in your service.

You deserved more, dad. You deserved more.
