Carl Bloom Obituary

Bloom, Carl Richard
89 passed away on September 9, 2017. Carl was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force. After leaving the Air Force he went to Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he met and married Valerie Swanson on September 3, 1949. Shortly thereafter, Carl attended Seabury Western Episcopal Seminary in Evanston, IL. He was a Curate in his first church in Hinsdale, IL then he moved on to Grace Church, Galena, IL, Christ the King in Huntington, IN, Holy Trinity in Belvidere, IL and four mission churches in southern Illinois near Marion. Carl and Valerie decided to retire and relocate to Chandler, Arizona several years later. Carl is survived by his son Mark Bloom and children, Scott Bloom (Tamara) and Sara Bloom Lombardo (Nick); son Paul Bloom (Nancy) and children Jeffrey and Julie Bloom Meidl (Nick); son John Bloom (Debbi) and children Kristen Bloom Masi (Ron), Katrina Bloom Fox (Aaron); daughter Anne Bloom and children Edward Jr, John and Timothy Benante and daughter Susan Bloom and children Kristina Dolezal Hoer (Trent) and Patrick Dolezal (Emily). In addition, he is also survived by four great granddaughters, Natalie, Tansy, Isla and Hayden. Carl's Memorial Service will be held September 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 322 N. Horne St., Mesa, AZ. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
