Carlos Herrera Obituary

Carlos Herrera, 85, of Phoenix, AZ passed away September 7, 2005. He was an Arizona native and served in the Army. Our Dad retired from working as an auto painter for Childress Buick in 1971. Dad was only 50 when our Mom passed away and devoted the rest of his life to caring for our sister Patsy "his Reina". Dad is survived by his daughters Margie Carrasco, Josie Pena, Gloria Ruiz, and Patsy Herrera, brother, Alex and he was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren. His grandson Hector Ruiz and family are overseas but Grandpa will be in their prayers. He was preceded in death by his daughters Bobbie Campoy and Ruth Ling. Dad loved his family and was loved in return: he will remain in our hearts always. Private services to be held. Arrangements entrusted to A.L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel.

Dear Grandpa,

It was always so fun to be around you and I always enjoyed your company. I would have loved to spend more time with you, but living overseas prevented that. I love you so much and I wish that I could someday be like you. I am so proud and lucky to have you as a Grandpa. I will always miss and love you.

Love Always,

Gabriel

Dearest Grandpa,

Although I did not spend as much time with you as I would have liked because of living overseas, you were and are such a big part of my life. It was always so wonderful to be in your company and you were always so interested to know about what I was interested in. You are such a caring person and you've touched the heart of everyone who has ever came in contact with you. Your life was lived to it's fullest and I hope that I could accomplish the same. Your presence will be missed every day but I want you to know that you will always be a part of me. I will always love you, Grandpa.

Love Always,

Kim

Grandpa,

I remember all the times we went to your house and how friendly and excited you were to see me and Emma. You always were sacrificing to take care of my Aunt Patsy and you are a great inspiration to me. I will miss you very much. I will especially miss you calling me Brannie! I will miss very much. I love you.

Dad,

I remember one day, when I was at your house, with you and Patsy, and I fixed beef stew for your dinner you liked it and said it was the best!

Three to four weeks later, you were raving about my stew, to Josie and Margie, and yet they are the gourmet cooks in the family!

They were the ones who cooked for you most of the time, and yet you did not rave about their cooking!

I heard about that for a long time from my sisters! ( MY MUCH OLDER SISTERS)

I love you Dad

What are we going to do now, without our bossy and cranky old man?

I miss you already...

Gloria

Grandpa,

I have so much love and respect for you and the way you lived your life. The incredible amount of love and care you gave to Aunt Patsy is very impressive! I will miss seeing your great smile, and hearing your contagious laughter. You have been such a good role model to many of us in the family. I will miss you so very much Grandpa!

Love Always,

Hector

I love you so much Grandpa, because you showed me so much respect and kindness from the first day I met you. You always made me laugh and made me feel good because you complimented my Philippino cooking so much. I miss you so much because you made me feel like a very welcomed part of the family. God be with you Grandpa.

Love Always,

Eden Ruiz

He could not stay another day.

Nana Lottie was waiting, why delay?

He laughed, I cried, so now we pray.

He has a new place, a fresh new day.

If his parting has left a void.

Then fill it with a remembered joy.

A joke he shared, a laugh, a kiss.

Yes, these things I too will miss.

His life was full.

He savored much.

Good family, good daughters,

Magdalena's touch.

And when you want our Tata near, simply whisper...he now will hear.

I LOVE YOU TATA.

I'LL BE SEEING YOU...
