Sue: I loved the photo gallery! What a great life the two of you shared! I will remember Chuck for his wonderful sense of humor. He could always made me laugh with his unusual way of viewing the world. And of course he was extremely fortunate to have such a woman as you for his lifelong partner. My thoughts and prayers to you and the boys and all their families.

Grandpa C. Albert was always the best Grandpa ever, he was nice smart and funny. It was always great when Grandpa C. Albert took us on the boat, whether it was going on a water ski, going tubing, going to get ice cream or any other reason it was a time of happiness. I loved playing pass with a football or a baseball in the sun with Grandpa. But those times will never be the same.

We stand with you in your hour of sorrow and continue to be here for you. George and Gayle Isley , S.C.G.

Dear Sue and family,
When I received your last e-mail, that did not say, " update on Chuck " but just said " Chuck" Our hearts broke. Even before we opened that e-mail, we knew we lost a very special person. It was Chuck who grew up with Gerry in Mankato, and talked Gerry in to going to College. We can remember Chuck at our Wedding Reception, singing Irish songs with my Dad behind the bar. We can remember Chuck taking us to our first Wresling match. We will never forget all of the good times we had at the lake. We can and will always remember, he sense of humor, his wisdom and his love of his family and friends. Our only saving thought is, that we will meet again in Heaven. We will be looking for him.
Goodbye C Albert, you were the best!!!

May 22, 2013

Dear Sue and Family,
The memories of the good times are almost to many to list but I remember the drag races Chuck and I used to have while we were in high school and no matter what I did to my car I couldn't beat him. I will miss our boat rides, the snowmobile rides, the campfires and the jokes and the many many beers we had together. A couple days ago I was mowing and I got choked up because I won't hear his mower running anymore. Karyl and I will miss him so much. He was truly my best friend.

Love,
Jack & Karyl Bohnert

Sue,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We always enjoyed the time spent on the golf course with you and Chuck.

Grandpa C. Albert was always the best grandpa he could be. Me and my brothers would bet on football games and be rewarded with ice cream cones and he always talked about what ever we wanted to talk about. Grandpa always seemed like he knew everything and always had the best advice for us in sports, school and other things in life. He would play baseball, football or any other sport for hours with us, and he was always still pretty athletic considering his age. My favorite times with Grandpa were at the cabin where he would pull us water skiing and tubing all day and as a conclusion take us for ice cream. Memories with grandpa will stay with me forever but I will miss him every second of every day. Grandpa was the best Grandpa anyone could ever have.

Micah Heil

May 21, 2013

I remember going golf-cart riding and playing baseball on the street in Arizona with Grandpa. I also loved spending time out on the lake skiing, tubing on Super Mable, going to eat ice cream on Game's Lake, and playing croquet in the yard. One of the many great memories I have had with Grandpa was when Conner, Caleb, Evan, and I were tubing and Grandpa ran us straight into the weeds. Then Uncle Mike starts driving because he thinks he is better than Grandpa so he walks right up and grabs the wheel, and he tries to get us through the weeds and he drives us right back into them.

May 21, 2013

Even though I only knew Chuck for a short time, I remember his smile, and enthusiasm, we will all miss him a lot. My thoughts are with you and your family, Sue.

Dear Sue and family. Chuck came into my life while I was in grade school at Sts. Peter & Paul in Mankato. He was my basketball coach and what I remember most is he always had a loaf of white bread at every practice and he ate it without any thing on it. Chuck was a great coach and I enjoyed the life lessons that he taught me. Chuck's mom and my mom (Nona Lenertz) were the best of friends. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Sue and Family,
It was our good fortune a couple years ago to meet Chuck and share our golf interest as well as Friday evening dinners at The Oaks. As the "newcomers", we appreciated Chuck's open and welcoming spirit. He was a "big" man...in many ways...big heart, big stories, big laugh, big love for life.....He will be remembered and missed.

Dear Sue and Family, Our sypathies and condolences. He will be missed. I've known Chuck for better than sixty years, and you nearly as long. At your wedding he said to me: "Old Simple really lucked out, didn't he ?" George & Pat Kremer

Chuck a friend ,confident, story teller, teacher, husband, father, grandfather, a man of worth with strong family values who loved his country.and life. He was a dancer, golfer, carpenter, snow mobile, water skiing, loved sports and he was an excellent athlete. He was a quiet man who listened to others, shared his thoughts when asked and sometimes when not asked,(smile). He loved movies, he enjoyed doing, not sitting, loved to help others his love for Sue ,his brothers, sons, wives, GRANDCHILDREN were unconditional. I have lost a best friend. Although Chuck has left our immediate presence there are many fond memories to call upon in the future we shared with Chuck and Sue.

I have known Chuck since 8th grade; we lived a block and a half apart in Mankato and I got to know his family. Chuck was an all-around athlete, smart and funny. Walking home from school one day he told me about falling through the ice on a lake, but he found the light and got out so he has been looked after all these years and now he has found the Light once more and is exploring what is beyond. He will be missed in this realm, but he is just getting started in the next and one day we will all meet again. Peace and Love to All.
