Clare Asselstine Obituary

Asselstine, Clare Wesley
passed away October 30th in Scottsdale, AZ, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Wes proudly served in the U. S. Navy in the early 1960's, and was stationed in San Diego, CA & Pearl Harbor, HI. For the majority of Wes's life, he was involved in the Building Industry in Denver, Scottsdale and San Diego. In the1990's through 2001, Wes was commissioned as a Fort Lewis College Police Officer in Durango, CO, where he and his wife raised their two daughters, which he adored. Wes's all-time, favorite place in the world was being on the beach in Kauai, Hawaii, in Poipu Beach, where he and Alison honeymooned. It later turned out to be the Family vacation destination. Wes had many interests during his lifetime that ranged from archery to horseback riding, art, tennis, golf, sailing and fishing. He was a true lover of nature, and shared that love with his wife & daughters, and his in-laws, George & Mary Ann Hayduke. Wes leaves behind his loving wife, Alison, of 34 years, and his daughters Annika & Anastasha. He will be remembered as a loving, sweet, kind, gentle & humorous Husband, Daddy & Friend. Services & Burial in the Memorial Garden will be held Friday, November 11, 2016, at 2:30 PM at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 6715 N. Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253, followed by a reception at the family home. His Family wishes to thank his devoted Friend & Caregiver, Belle, for all her tender loving care, and his compassionate Team from Sage Hospice of Scottsdale. Remembrances may be made by flowers or a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary. To the Asselstine Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
