Clinton Francis Obituary

Clinton Denyer Francis, born to Louis Lee Francis, Sr. and Louie Myrtle (Green) Francis on September 28, 1920 in Phoenix, Arizona passed away April 28, 2003 in his son's home near Burney, CA. A memorial service was held in the Burney Presbyterian Church where Clint had been a long time member, elder, deacon, and friend of the church for more than forty years. More than 200 members, friends, and relatives attended. His very close friend, Reverend Dan Wells officiated. Arrangements by Allen & Dahl Chapel of Palo Cedro, CA. Clinton joined the Civilian Conservation Corps as a teenager, the Arizona National Guard, and Regular Army serving through the European campaign for the duration of World War II. He was recipient of many medals and honors including the Bronze Star for Valor. He was always proud to have been an American Patriot and was a member of the VFW post in Burney. The last five decades of his life were in Shasta Country, Calif. where he was a heavy equipment operator in the lumber industry in and around Burney, CA. He was an avid volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Senior bus transportation and anywhere he felt there was a need. He was loved and is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Russell, Mike, Alan, Keith, and Jay, along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A brother Richard of Mesa, AZ, and sister Ruth Brewer of Grass Valley, CA.
