Craig Johnson Obituary

Craig W. Johnson

Chandler - Craig W. Johnson of Chandler passed away January 22, 2021 at Banner Desert Medical Center after battling a severe lung infection.

Born September 30, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio, Craig was the first born son of Warren and Earlene Johnson. He attended Ohio State University for a short time before moving to Arizona in 1978. In 1981 he began a career as a Claims Specialist for a major insurance company in the valley, remaining there for 20 years.

Craig married his wife Terri in 1994 and they moved to the Chandler area where they resided for the last 26 years. They enjoyed traveling to various resorts, along with a cruise/tour to Alaska and two trips to Hawaii. Craig loved photography and created a nice portfolio specializing in hummingbirds, nature, pets, Arizona sunsets and landscapes, and of course family and friends. He had a few photos published in the Arizona Republic. He also enjoyed camping and hiking, a good tennis match and watching anything involving track and field. Needless to say, he was a huge Ohio State & Cleveland Browns football fan.

Craig had a love for Airedale terriers, so onboard came Rusty, then Arlo and now Booker. A small stray pup also became part of the house last year, and she also claimed Craig's heart. All great dogs! Also included as entertainment for several years was his African Grey parrot, Buster, two chameleons and one snake.

Craig is survived by his wife Terri, his father Warren Johnson of Cleveland, brothers Allan Johnson of Tempe, David Johnson of South Carolina and Bruce Johnson of Cleveland. He also leaves behind a sister, Leslie Hunter of Cleveland, along with several nieces and nephews.

God bless you my love.
