Craig Sills Obituary

Sills, Craig Woodard
Craig Woodard Sills, born November 28, 1948, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Dix, NJ. He was a graduate of Herndon High School in Herndon, VA, attended college at the University of North Dakota, majoring in Horticulture, and he proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Master Gardner and had a lifetime love of plants. He was known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Craig loved with his whole heart, and was never afraid to show how much he deeply cared for his family. He was known for his kind spirit, his loyalty, his generosity, and good nature. He had a long career working with plants and nurseries until his retirement. Craig is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lucille Hedger Sills; his children, Casey Jane Sills, Meagan Sills, Jeremy Sills (Chelsea), Amber Owen (Mike), Chandra Goins (Jeff), Meghan Banyai (Matt), Davina Newman (Michael), Larissa Hedger, and Quillan Hedger (Megan); grandchildren, Kayla, Heidi, Austin, Jeffrey, Kevin, Caden, Jaquelynn, and Sawyer; as well as, siblings Cici Brayton (Byron), Chip Sills (Kelly), Connie Sanders (Robert), Candy Kline, Bitsy Shaw (Robert), and Cathy Loch (Joao); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Colonel Clarence F. Sills and Carolyn Woodard Sills. Funeral services were held Friday, September 18, 2015 at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home. Family greeted friends at 9:30am, with a memorial service at 10:30am and interment following at San Tan Memorial Gardens.
