I am so sorry for your loss Debbie and family. I worked with Curtis for the past 8 years, and over that time he became my dear friend who helped me through some difficult times, made me laugh always, and who's friendship I will never forget. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Debbie, You don't know me but I knew Curtis and Gene many years ago. The last time I saw both of them was at their Dad's funeral. I don't want you to think I am crazy but last night I had a dream about Vern, Sandy, Curtis and Gene. When I read the paper this morning I was very sadden to read about Curtis. I am so sorry for your loss, I know that he must have been a wonderful man. You and your family are in our prayers.

With a heavy heart I saw Curtis's obituary in the paper. I hadn't seen Curtis for years, but he was truly a great soul. My best memories of Curtis are on the basketball court. He was truly amazing. He and Dwayne Espinoza could not be beaten in 2 on 2 basketball throughout our grade school years at Orangewood. I only went to Washington High my Freshman year, but, I got to play football and basketball with Curtis and he always was gracious and great since of humor. He, of course, was an amazing athlete. Curtis will be missed. I last saw him years ago at a reunion and sure enough he was great as always. I'm truly heart broken to see he has passed. I know he is happy and smiling in heaven. He made a huge difference in my life as a kid, and he made it cool to stay out of trouble and play sports. Hopefully someday I'll meet one of his children and get to shake their hand.

I want you to know that I enjoyed talking to Curtis every day during the week for the past 20 plus years. I am a vendor but he was more than that to me. He is my friend. Almost every time I saw him he started with how are you my friend, unless he was already having a bad day.

I really miss him.

My best to you and your family.
