No professor had more of an impact on me than you. You helped me get into grad school and didn't judge when I wanted to quit. You provided the best example of what a cool, self-actualized person looked like. I've modeled much of my adult life after you and it's for the better. The world needs as many people like you as it could get.

Thank you for this touching obituary. Everyone who knew Dave loved him. He was kind, caring, engaging, generous and honest. The world is a much poorer place without him. I feel blessed to have known him, and I will miss him dearly.
It is also worth noting his passions for anything DIY, riding his motorcycles, raising chickens, and teaching his university students.
