David Hadley Jr.
Glendale - David "Dave" Hadley Jr., 76, passed away peacefully at home in Glendale, Arizona, due to complications of Alzheimer's Disease. He was preceded in death by his father, David Hadley, Sr., mother, Mary Hadley and stepson Larry R. Muniz. He is survived by his wife Rita of 41 years of marriage (as of today 2/14/21), daughter Kirstin O'Brien (David), his sister Diane Hadley, stepchildren Laura Chavez (Tony), Linda Cossette (Mike), Frank Knippenberg (Trish), Daniel Knippenberg (Cristy), daughter-in-law Sherry Muniz, 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Dave was born at Fort Jackson army base in Columbia, SC, and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He attended grade schools 60 and 84 and graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1961. He attended Wabash College graduating in 1965 and Indiana University School of Law graduating in 1968. Dave moved to Phoenix in 1968 to start his Law career clerking for Judge Laurence Henderson. He was a partner in the Law Office of Hadley, Poach & Anderson, PC, retiring in 2012, and a Judge Pro Tempore serving from 1992 until his retirement. In addition to associates and a dedicated, loyal staff, his law partners include Steve Lea, David Anderson, David Mason, Jeffery Pitts, Bill Poach, predeceased Lynn Anderson.
Dave was a member of The Rotary Club of Phoenix West for over 30-plus years, serving as president, secretary, board member, and served in various positions at Rotary District 5490. He served on the boards of Gift of Life, Honan Kachina Counsel and worked on many other fundraising events.
Dave was a Cowboy at heart and loved his horses, donkey, dogs, goats and cat Jethro. He loved spending summers in Prescott, AZ, riding, hiking, going to the rodeo and Cowboy Poet Gatherings. Later years he spent summers in Vernon, AZ, hiking with his dogs and friends, and enjoyed summer evenings listening to music in Pinetop, AZ. He was also an avid golfer and tennis player.
