David Kloeppel Obituary

Kloeppel, David "Dave" Alphonse

When younger, Dave was a paperboy, and then went on to work in the construction industry, eventually becoming the Vice President of a concrete company. He was a loving husband, dad, "Pop", brother, best friend, avid softball player, music lover, handyman and sports fan. His laughter, sense of humor and love of life brought joy to everyone he knew. Bringing family and friends together, listening to music, and enjoying life is what he loved most. Everyone Dave met became a friend, and his loved ones feel blessed to have been a part of his life and will miss him dearly. He leaves behind Jan, his wife of 34 years; his daughters, Lesly, Cassie and Emily; his sons-in-laws, Chad and Geoffrey; his granddaughters, Madalyn, Macie and Quinn; his siblings, Arline, Ralph and Roger; and many loving relatives and friends. "Hey Brother". That's how Dave always greeted me and he made me feel like we were brothers in all we did. Some of the best memories and times I had in my life were because of Dave. The now precious days we shared whether it was Music( staying up all night and picking songs on McKenzie), family events, road trips, Crown King, softball, working together on stuff or just confining in each other ended way, way too soon. Dave and I missed some years but that did not matter as Dave's smile in his eyes let you know he loved you and everything was cool. Dave was real. He had something special and you could feel it. He didn't know he had it as he was just being himself. He had the gift of making YOU feel special, THAT was Dave!!!
My heart misses you, Shalom my brother, Ricky

To Jan, all the family and to all of Dave's friends I offer my deepest sympathy. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dave's passing. Dave and I became friends around 1976. we met while playing softball for Wooten Kennels in the Super B League in downtown Phoenix. From there we played on 3 other teams together. We had many wonderful times together at parties at his house, going to concerts, Van Halen, Boston, Rush, Journey, The Tubes. We both love music. When I needed a place to live for a while he invited me into his home where I met Ed Sadana. We all ended up playing ball together with Ed's brother Steve. When I moved in I brought my records and reel to reel with me. Between Dave and I we had well over 2, 000 records. You all already know this but it bares repeating that when you shook Dave's hand you were in the presence of someone special. The last time I saw Dave was at Mary view Park in 1981. I did see Ed and Steve in 1984 when they came to the Discount Tire store I was managing in Peoria. Through the years I thought of Dave and how he was doing and if he was still having the great parties. Jan I may be incorrect about this but I believe I was with Dave when he first met you. To all please take care and if anyone would like to get a hold of me to reminisce about the good ole days with Dave, here is my email address.

Dave was my Uncle, big brother, and friend. As his niece, I am only five years younger than Uncle Dave. He babysat and took my brother Pat and I to the movies when he was a teenager. In my 20's I spent many crazy times at Dave's house parties. Through my friends, I introduced Dave to his beloved wife Jan. Dave, Jan, and this three daughters spent many trips/vacations with my husband and three daughters during the last thirty-odd years. Dave was a generous soul, had a heart of gold, and an infectious laugh/personality.
Dave instilled in us the joy of music, the value of tradition, and the importance of family! Love you Dave and I will miss you every day until we meet again.....

David is my baby brother & he was 6 1/2 years younger than me and we spent a lot of time together riding bicycles and going to all the parks in Phoenix and as we got older rode dirt bikes & played softball together. But we also worked together in the concrete business and we worked on many projects mainly helping each other on our houses & we spent a lot of time camping & more than a few beers with family & friends, I will miss him and his love for life & family but mainly his smile and willingness to help anyone when they asked! Brother I will see you someday again, until then Love you!

I've known Dave since 1975, when I started playing softball with he and Roger for Sun Drywall. Dave and Roger were at my wedding in 1977, and since then, I played on several teams with Dave. We went to see the Rolling Stones together. I had two of his daughters and his sons-in-law in my American History class at Cactus High School. Dave was a HUGE fan of all sports at Cactus, especially football and softball. In addition to being a great softball player, Dave was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I truly don't think he ever met a stranger. Even after Dave got sick, he had a positive attitude, continued to attend Cactus sporting events, and refused to let you feel sorry for him. It's a great honor to say that Dave was a friend of mine. My prayers go out to Jan and Dave's whole family. If there's softball in Heaven, I know who's starting at second base.

To the Kloeppel Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
