Dr. Brogan-
I just saw your obituary on-line, today. You died the day I retired last year. It was a happy day for me, and now I am so sad. I can't thank you enough for helping me learn a new way of living. The first thing you did was hand me an AA meeting list. Today I am 22 years sober, and living a good life. I always give you credit for being the one person in my life that gave me the desire to turn my unhappy life around. I thought of writing you a letter since so many years had gone by since the last one. I wanted to visit again so many times but just never made it back down there. I got married in 2015 in Maui. I'm still with Susan and we have made a fun life together..along with furry paws.
I know you are helping people up in heaven. I can't wait until I see you again. God bless you and your family. I know no one will ever read this since a year has gone by, so this is written to you. Thank you for your help, and wisdom. You will always be a very big part of me.
I love you.
Teri

Sometimes I just want to talk to you, hear your voice. You always knew what to say. I miss you very much. I hung up the very last birthday card I received from you on my desk at work. Thinking about how I wish you were still here.

I will always remember Debra's sense of humor and her great smile. I will always remember her gentle and compassionate spirit. I loved that we shared a love for cats. Debra was a true warrior and an amazing human being. Knowing Debra made me a better person. You will be missed, but I will always feel your presence. Rest in peace, my friend.

I have such fond memories of Deb from the day she came to St. Theresa's school in Lincoln, NE. We thought she was so exotic being all the way from California! She was such a keen observer of life and had such a great sense of humor. We would have long talks and try to solve the world's problems at the few slumber parties we were able to attend together. Even at such a young age, she thought deeply about life and the world around us. I also remember when she was diagnosed with diabetes in high school. She never let the disease oppress her or keep her from enjoying her life or dreaming about her future. I haven't seen her or spoken to her for many years, but I know Arizona was lucky to have had her as a part of the community. Not very many people have the compassion and dedication that she had. I am so sorry to hear that she is gone. I know her family will miss her dearly, and so will the world.

To the Brogan Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
