Delmer Kelley Obituary

Delmer Gene Kelley Sr. Secor- Delmer G. Kelley Sr., 79, of 2099 CR 550 N Secor, formerly of El Paso; passed away at 8:55 a.m. on April 9, 2008 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in El Paso, Illinois. He was born on February 19, 1929 in Lexington, Illinois a son of William L. and Mae Gibson Kelley. He married Barbara L. Edwards on December 14, 1962. She passed away on May 23, 1999. Surviving are five sons, Mike (Sue) Kelley of El Paso, IL; Rick (Graciela) Kelley of Secor, IL; Gene Kelley Jr. of Bloomington, IL; Tom Kelley of IN; Robert Kelley of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Dorthy Owens; sister-in-law, Edith Kelley; both of Lexington, IL; fourteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Hazel Chapman; one sister, Lucille Sutter; and one brother, Leonard Kelley. Delmer was the owner of a local service station in El Paso. He also worked as the transportation director for the El Paso school system. He was most recently enjoying his retirement. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bloomington. Funeral services were be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. The Rev. Tim Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be sent to his family at www.ruestmanharris funeralhome.com.
