Doralee McHenry Obituary
Doralee Armistead McHenry went to be with Jesus on October 22, 2016. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lewis; the nine months since his passing is the longest they were ever apart. She was also predeceased by her brothers Dan and Ray, and sister Olene. Doralee was born Friday August 13, 1923 in Brady, Texas to David Bryan and Velma Armistead. She was a talented musician and equestrian in her youth. She married the love of her life, Lewis, in 1948. They enjoyed 67 years together. Her career was "Domestic Engineer", caring for Lewis and raising their four children. She was a faithful servant at the First Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School, serving as a deaconess, and volunteering in countless other ways. She truly had a servant heart. Doralee is survived by her brother Bill Armistead, children Jan (Richard) Etheridge, Jim (Mary) McHenry, Jeff (Kris) McHenry, and Joy (Scott) Pool; grandchildren Amy, John, Eric, Kyle, Heather, Kenny, Travis, Kevin, Sarah and Sam; and great-grandchildren Madison, Matthew, Delilah, Garret, Aurora, Austin and Andrew. Please join the family for services at 11:00am October 28, 2016 at Living Streams Chapel 7000 N. Central Ave. Phoenix 85020. Burial will be private. I regret that I was unable to attend the memorial service for Doralee. When health prevented her from taking an active part in the work of the church, she along with Lewis faithfully still attended the worship service and participated in our Sunday Bible class at Living Streams, I'm thankful for the those times of fellowship with them both. I offer my prayers and deepest sympathy to you her family in your sorrow.

My condolences to all of you on the passing of Doralee, certainly a special woman. Special prayers go to Joy and Jim, whom I have not seen in many years and to her brother, Bill.
