Edward Sloms Obituary
Eddie Sloms of Glendale died June 5, 2011. He was 79 years old. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Eddie graduated from high school and then served in the army during the Korean War. He worked for 29 years for Bell Telephone of PA and then he retired to Arizona in 1984. Eddie developed his own telephone/electrical business in Arizona. He was a best friend to everyone he met. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Georgette; son Philip of Glendale, AZ; and daughter Marsha (Ty) Saunders along with 4 grandchildren Michael, Kevin, Steven and David of Chino Valley, AZ. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 9th at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351 with Rabbi Tracee Rosen officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory are suggested to Temple Gan Elohim, P.O. Box 12097, Glendale, AZ 85318 or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.

Dear Georgette: Kimberly & I are both saddened by the news of Eddie's passing. He was such a kind and gentle spirit and we will miss his unique voice and sense of humor. How gracious he was with his time and knowledge and always ready to lend a hand.

We were all saddened to learn of Eddie"s passing. He was a very special person who touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with. As friends and ex-neighbors of Eddie for the past 48 years, we have such fond memories of him. He always went out of his way to help his neighbors and friends. He will be so missed, but we have wonderful memories of great time we shared together. Sincere condolences to the family. Love

I have many fond memories of cousin Eddie from when I visited Philadelphia and the times he came to Montreal. You could not help but smile when you were around Eddie. I still remember his voice.
He was very liked by my late parents as a fun guy and loved family member. My father especially liked getting together with Eddie to talk shop. After his moving to Arizona, my parents enjoyed talking with him on the telephone.
A great, warm person who will be missed by all who knew him.
My sincerest condolences to my cousins Georgette, Philip, Marsha, and the grandchildren for your loss.
