Fay Lara Obituary
March 24, 1928 - August 25, 2010. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Fay Lara, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Kerns, West Virginia, sister of 13 siblings, Fay spent the majority of her life in Phoenix, Arizona. Loving wife of the late Ernest Lara, they were married for 54 years. Fay and Ernie owned Lara Jewelers in Phoenix until retirement. Fay was involved in the Girl Scouts for over 20 years and was also an active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. Her favorite activities included playing cards, fishing, attending ASU football games, and trips to Heber and Laughlin. She is survived by her sons Charles and David and daughters Debbie (Michael) Marinshaw and Brenda (Dan) Browne including 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Fay was an exceptional wife, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She welcomed everyone into her life and will be forever missed. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the loving care our mother received at Hazelwood Manor in Scottsdale including Hospice of The Valley. The family requests that any donations made in honor of Fay be directed toward Hospice of The Valley, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, and Aldersgate Methodist Church.

Our condolences to the family. We just hear from a mutual neighbor of the passing of our neighbor and friend, Fay. She was so kind and loving and she will be missed. God Bless you, Fay.

Lara Family; I'm so sorry to hear of Fay's passing. She is now enjoying time with the Pot Luck group in heaven. Our families enjoyed so much time together when we were younger going to South Mountain and rope swings over the creeks. My prayers are with you through this difficult time.

Lara Family-
How very saddened I was when I heard this evening of your mothers passing. When she moved from the neighborhood, I asked my mother at least weekly if she had heard from Fay or the kids. I have fond memories of both your parents, the greatest are the times I was privileged to attend the ASU games with them and better yet when we had season tickets not far from theirs sporting our ASU gold cheering for the Sun Devils.
All of my siblings have fond memories of "our" neighborhood and of course our wedding rings purchased at Lara jewelers. May God be with you during this difficult time.
