Frank Maguire Obituary

Frank William Maguire born November 7, 1919 and passed away on July 9, 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Patricia, sons Frank and wife Sherry, Bryan, Joseph and wife Bernadette and Peter and wife Wendy; daughters Lea, Katherine and husband James and Mary and husband David and 13 grand children and 4 great grand children. His youth was spent in New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania until he joined the U. S. Army Air Corps. Frank retired as Lt. Colonel from the U.S. Air Force in July 1970. Frank was a WWII veteran and pilot who flew in the Berlin Airlift. He became a flying instructor for the Air Force and ended his career as an airbase Vice Commander. He continued flying after his retirement and acuminated over 100,000 hours of flying time in all variety of aircraft. He started Design 7 a family run custom woodworking and design shop. His departure has left an empty space in the lives of his family and friends and he will be sorely missed. Frank we know you're now doing what you love best: flying peacefully above the clouds with all your friends. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 16th, at 9:00a.m., St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ with a reception following at St. Theresa's Father Feeney Hall. A Military Internment with honors at Fort Rosecrans National Military Cemetery, San Diego, CA. will be in two weeks. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 W Northern Ave., Suite A100, Phoenix, AZ 58021or Hydrocephalus Association, 870 Market St., Suite 705, San Francisco, CA 94102.
