Gary Wong Obituary
Gary K. Wong was born on January 24, 1953 in Phoenix, AZ. He attended the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind in Tucson where he met his companion of 27 years, Shirley Schurz. Gary was employed and retired from the Phoenix Union High School District where he was an Apprentice. He is survived by girlfriend Shirley, his father Jin Wong, brothers Edward (Julie), Howard (Charlene), nieces and nephews Janelle, Eric, Lindsay and Tyler. Gary passed away on August 28, 2014 after a courageous 20 month battle with cancer. Visitation will be at 9:30am, Saturday September 6, 2014, followed by Services at 10:00 am at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel, 2300 West Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009. I worked with Gary for many years in the print shop at PUHS. I went to Phx. college to learn sign language so I could talk with him easier and he always made fun of me if I did it wrong. His family should be very proud of Gary because he was a very wonderful, honest and hard working man. Not only that he was remarkedly smart . I'm so very sorry that I haven't seen him for so many years after I retired. All my family cared a lot for him. God bless him. His "old" boss "Bev" Towne

I will miss him ... He's happy to be in a heaven without suffering and pain anymore.. He was so good and funny.. He kept talking about "Mc Donald Hamburger". He did sent us McDonald's coupon for Christmas gift.. I never never forget about him as forever... Shirley and Gary's family are in my prayers.. I love you as very good friend, Gary!

Gary Wong is a friendly, sweet and nice man. He is easily get along with any one and I enjoyed talking to him whenever I see him. We shall miss his friendly smile. I send my condolences to his family and Shirley for their dearest loss.
