Glen Karlin

Glen Karlin, age 95, passed away January 5, 2005 in Scottsdale. He was born and raised in Chicago. Working for his uncle in the produce business he quickly learned the grocery industry and for his entire career was in the grocery business. Starting with National T in Chicago, Glen ultimately became the owner of his own grocery store, The Dairy Maid, in Melrose Park. He was also a founding member of the Merchant and Manufacturers Bank of Melrose Park as well as a major contributor to the Golfview School for the handicapped. Mr. Karlin was preceded in death by his first wife Fay and his second wife Wanda, with whom he shared two sons. Survivors include sons Philip Karlin and Elliot Karlin; sister Sara Levin; brother Bernard Karlin; and grandsons Ryan, Wesley and Brandon. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7th at Beth Israel Cemetery, 305 S. 35th Avenue in Phoenix. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
