Smith, Glenn Willis
85, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away July 31, 2016 unexpectedly at his residence. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska February 6, 1931. Glenn was a loving and beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Janet, sons H. Bradley of Phoenix, David of Minneapolis, and grandson Jesse. Born in Lincoln Nebraska, Glenn served in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant before returning to Lincoln where he graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University. He passed his CPA exam and began work for Peat Marwick, then Earnst and Young accounting firms. Later he earned an MBA from the University of Nebraska while serving in the University of Nebraska Chancellor's Office. In 1977 Glenn became the comptroller at the University of Minnesota. He later became CFO at the Haworth Group advertising agency. He enjoyed retirement in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was a lifelong church member serving as a deacon, usher and choir member. He and Janet enjoyed bridge and their gourmet dining groups. A memorial service will be held 2PM, August 5, 2016 at Valley Presbyterian Church, Paradise Valley, AZ where he was a member for 20 years. He will later be interred there in the memorial garden. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
