Golly, some of my fondest memories of you are when we lived at Nana’s house. I would go to Central Park and play and then wait for you to shut the park down and we would walk home together. Another one is eating Pete’s and you would put so much chili that you would start to sweat lots and your glasses would slide down. Sometimes I just wanted to say take your glasses off:) I am so happy that my kids and I got to see you this past holiday season at my mom’s house. One of Kaylee’s friend used the phrase “golly” and Kaylee said “I have an Uncle Golly, and that is his real name.” You will be truly missed.

I used to hang out in CP and played pickup basketball games with Golly his brother David and the other guys that would show up. Lost contact over the years, but would always talk to my wife about the old times on Buckeye Road and at Phoenix Union. I was saddened to hear of Golly's passing. Our prayers go out to you and the Family.

To my younger brother Golly:
It’s hard to describe my feelings right now but writing you seems to give me some light & peace. Even as your illness progressed and things got tough for you, you always maintained a good attitude and kept your strength. I learned from you - I've become a wiser person from you brother. I feel blessed that you asked me to make you tamales and that we shared a weekend recently at my house, reminiscing in my backyard. My memories are fresh and when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. I will never forget your sweet words about me being blessed with a good family and Im fortunate that my family was able to call you, family as well.
Love always - your sister,

Golly: My first memory of you is at Nana's house on Sunday's - always in the front room so most of the time, you were the first person I said Hi to! I am lucky that I had the opportunity to visit and speak with you over the last couple of months - - Thank you God. You came to visit me at my home which was great. And it's obvious that your love of pickles is known throughout the family :-) The last time I saw you was late last month when we were having dinner at my mom & dad's house and you were telling me about your love of pickles and how you would place the chili into the jar to make HOT pickles. And just by the way you described those darn pickles, you had me salivating!! And as I sit here writing this entry....I have a jar of pickles sitting in my refrigerator!! Thx G Man. Another recent memory I am grateful for is being able to give you a pair of Dbax tix this summer. And because of that opportunity, I received a voicemail from you about the game. Well it was my pleasure and that is a cherished memory I have frozen in time - your voice speaking to me one last time. Our comfort here on earth is knowing, as others said, that you are with Nana, Tata and brother Nuco resting ....
One more angel in heaven.

Golly you were more than an uncle to me you were more like a second dad to me. I never forget all the times we had with each other, from the time we went to universal studios to the time we went to Chicago. Or the other times we ate ritos and watched A-team and bonanza. Till now talking about what happen on the young and the restless. You will always be in my heart. I love you and I miss you so much

He was my favorite Uncle, the best person I have ever known. We could talk about everything and everyone (and did!) I have memories that my cousins and siblings only hear about.....I will miss him so much. 1 day before he passed away we had a conversation with lots of a laughter, Golly had the loudest laugh and the whole neighborhood could hear it (Golly was just loud in general) family functions will not be the same =( Miss you Uncle Gowwy!

Condolenses to the Galaviz family. I knew Golly since 1964 when I moved into the CP area. I remember how much he loved to play basketball and other sports. I remember his shyness and how he was always dressed in levis and a white T-shirt and of course his converse shoes. Rest in peace Golly. You will always be in our memories and hearts.
