Hazel Diffie Obituary

Hazel Ross Diffie received her heavenly reward May 3, 2005 after and extended illness. She was born in Bismark, Arkansas May 23, 1912 and shortly after her marriage in 1935 moved to Bisbee, Arizona. In April 1944, her husband accepted a pastorate in the Phoenix area where she would spend the rest of her life. Hazel was much loved and for 31 years worked alongside her husband as pastors of 44th Street Church of God. She led many ministries of the church and worked for various community activities over the years. She was first of all a servant to her Lord Jesus Christ, a faithful and dedicated companion to her husband of 69 years, Hurschel, a loving and devoted Mother, a doting Grandma and Great-Grandma, and a wonderful friend and example to countless individuals. Hazel is survived by husband Hurschel, daughters Gayle and husband Robert Rodgers, Cumming, GA, daughter Gloria, Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren Bob and Melinda Rodgers, Snellville, GA, Dr. Jeff and Angie Rodgers, Norcross, GA, Tyanne and JP Miller, Sevierville, TN, and Rick and Melissa Youngkin, Camden, SC. Also great grandchildren Taylor, Cory, and Bobby Rodgers, Snellville, GA, and Jessie and Blake Rodgers, Norcross, GA. Undoubtedly, our loss is Heaven's gain. Services will be Friday, May 6th 1:30 PM at Parkway Community Church of God, 1751 E. Maryland Ave., Phoenix.

Dearest Pastor Diffie:

We were very sad to hear about Sis Diffie, however, we know she is with the Lord...as the song says

"no more pain, no more suffering." Praise God we have that hope! I know shes with Mom Drews and Grandma Bledsoe rejoicing. Its only a matter of time, we will all be with them. Our prayers are with you and the family. We love and appreciate you all so much!!

Bro. Diffie...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of sorrow. You and Sis. Diffie took me in after my Dad died and helped me through the grief I felt and I have always loved you so much for that thoughtfulness.

Though Sis. Diffie is in a far better place - and standing by the fence talking and laughing with my Mom and Mrs. Burgess, we will miss her greatly.

May God be with you during this time - as I'm sure He will since I feel that you are one of his favorite children.

Brother Diffie and family,

I was saddened to see that Sister Diffie is no longer here with us on this earth, but I thrill with you at the thought that she is sitting at the feet of Jesus!

I know what a Godly example of a wife and mother Sister Diffie has always been, my Grandmother and my mother always spoke so highly of her. I remember her sweet and loving spirit, and look forward to the day that we will all meet again in Heaven!

God has blessed you greatly and I know that He will continue to.

Much love to you,
